Shut Up

“Success Does Not Happen Over Night? Shut UP!”

On December 31, 2013 800-CEO-READ posted their Top 25 Bestsellers of 2013. It did not surprise me when I read that authors Bob Burg and John David Mann’s book “The Go-Giver” was#2!

As I read the names listed on the Top 25 Bestsellers list I had a lot of thoughts go through my mind. One of course is the very obvious one… how honored 2 Dream Productions is to have had the opportunity to work with The Go-Giver Team in 2013.

To be/play a part in someone’s success… even a small part you a view others might not get to see. You get to see the journey that led to the success, and it makes you appreciate the people, the journey, and the things that were done to get to where they are today.

I was recently being interviewed on the The Shut UP Show hosted by Phil Gerbyshak and Berni Xiong and I was asked about my own journey. I was asked how I decided to start a book publicist company, and what made me know it was the right thing to do. I made the statement that I woke up one day and I was a book publicist. I think I even used the phrase “I literally woke up and was a book publicist”. Co-host Berni (when cross interviewing) me redirected me back to my statement, and asked me to put more thought into my reply. She walked me through all the moments in my life that brought me to that moment of my choices, and conveyed to me that,” NO I ‘just‘ did not wake up one morning and was an owner of a book publicist company”… while the moment I became one felt right… there were many steps, obstacles, choices, and lessons that brought me to that moment.

I have to be honest, that interview reframed my thoughts and put things in a different perspective for me. Things don’t just happen. Things happen because of the actions and thoughts we put into the process.

While my company worked with The Go-Giver team, I watched all the hard work that was put into the book, the name, and the legacy. The success was not born over night but the legacy will live on now and forever, in the lives of many generations to come.

Bob did not wait for success to happen or wait for success to find him. Bob did (and does) what I advise all people who are looking to make a difference, and define success to do– He made it happen.

I hope you are making it happen too and I hope that 2014 takes you from Dreaming 2 Living your Dreams!
